Easy Baby Roll Brim Loop Top Beanie
Materials:
Size 5 double pointed needles
Worsted, sport or baby weight yarn, about 80 yds
Darning needle.
Directions:
On size 5 dpns cast on 70 stitches (dividing up as follows 24/24/25 sts/needle). Work in St st for approximately 4 inches.
Begin decreasing for the crown as follows:
*K10, K2tog, repeat from * for entire round.
*K 9, K2tog, repeat from * for entire round.
*K8, K2tog, repeat from * for entire round.
*K 7, k 2 tog, repeat from * for entire round.
*K 6, k 2 tog, " " " "
*K 5, k 2 tog, " " " "
*K 4, k 2 tog, " " " "
*K 3, k 2 tog, " " " "
*K 2, k 2 tog, " " " "
*K 1, k 2 tog, " " " "
Knit every 2 sts tog until 5 sts rem. Transfer all stitches to one needle and work I-cord for approx 5 inches.
Break yarn, leaving a 10" tail and use a darning needle to thread yarn through remaining stitches in the direction you were knitting.
Lifting sts off needles as you go, pull tight like a drawstring.
Use the mattress stitch to attach the top end of the I-cord to the center top of the hat making a loop.
Sew in ends.
Stick on baby's head. CUTE!
