9.28.07 Cold weather is here, perhaps to stay...? Not that I want to jinx it. Over the last couple days I've gotten in so many beautiful yarns! I now carry Jade Sapphire 100% Mongolian Cashmere in the 8-ply. This yarn is the softest and comes in such subtle and beautiful colorways, it is irresistable even at $38 a ball. I also got in a super soft new self-striping, multi textural yarn Called Terzetto, and a really soft hand-painted 100% cotton from Punta Del Este. And I'm waiting on a huge order of books and notions. Also, I posted an updated class list a few days ago. Most of the classes are aimed at making gifts for the Holidays. I'm especially excited for our second installment of Mr. Funky Crochet Super Wonderful where Narumi will be teaching the cutest crochcted Owl, and the knit cactus plant class. I need to get pictures of these adorable, quick items on the site as soon as possible!

9.6.07 Finally opened yesterday! Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a visit. Tomorrow the DIY Network will be shooting a show here at the shop featuring local LA musicians who also knit. I'll update on how it goes and who shows up. Should be interesting! I'll still be open tomorrow-- but careful, if you come in, you might get caught on camera. I want to thank you all for bearing with me during this transitional pain-in-the-ass moment of my shop. It's coming together sjhlowly but surely, and I'm really excited to be n Atwater. There si actually a really strong community spirit here. I'll be updating the Fall and Winter class list by the end of this month, so stay tuned... ALSO: A huge shipment of beautiful Malabrigo hand dyed merino wool just arrioved. It's so soft and comes in subtle, beautiful colors. xoxo

8.25.07 MOVING SALE!!! Two more days of sales. Through Sunday, August 29th, receive 50% off all yarns in the shop, PLUS $2 ball bins and 50% off all books and magazines!

Then it's moving time. Next week I'm moving the shop to Atwater Village to a really sweet little spot just past the Hyperion Bridge where a place called Creative Grounds Cafe used to be. The new address will be 3042 Glendale Blvd. LA, CA. 90039. Phone number: 323.663.3838. Please note that the store hours are changing as well. Monday and Tuesday I will be closed. I'll really miss Suzie and Steinberg & Sons and all the beautiful dresses, but I'm excited to have my own space devoted to all things fibery and crafty. I have alot to accomplish between Sunday and Wednesday the 29th when I reopen! One thing at a time. One thing at a time.Come visit the new location.

Oh, and I'll have a Fall class schedule up sometime later this month. xoxo

8.21.06 Ahhhhh. The evenings are getting cooler and I find myself dipping my fingers back into my stash and fantasizing about scarves and throws and hand warmers! Yay!

I've got a bunch of classes lined up for this Fall and Winter. I've really tried to offer classes that will teach great gift-making ideas for the Holidays. I've added tons of free classes, too! Check them out on the classes page.

Also, the second Thursday night of every month, I am going to start holding an ongoing charity knitting night aimed at making items for specific local Charity organizations. Yarn purchased for these projects will receive a 40% discount, and I will always have donated yarn on hand as well. Sign up for the newsletter to receive updates on this effort. Email newsletter@thelittleknittery.com with the subject line "subscribe."

I'm making a slow but sure shift to carrying alternative fiber yarns, organic yarns, and yarns from small mills, so stay updated to hear about what comes in. I've also started working with several highly talented handspinners all over the country to produce one of kind skein that are absolute works of art. Come by and check them out (there are also pix of these on the website.)

And I finally got a lounge area where you can hang out and be comfortable and knit. Come over and hang out with me!
